Use this instruction guide to help setup the mast on match day.
For safety reasons, it is not advisable to fully extend the tripod mast
in windy conditions, specifically when the wind speed exceeds 30
km/hr. Additionally, please be aware that sudden gusts of wind can
cause excessive swaying and potentially cause the mast to topple if
it is not properly secured. When using the mast at lower heights, it is
recommended to lower the topmost sections and utilize the lower
sections, as they provide greater stability.
SECURING THE MAST
MAST POSITIONING & WIND DIRECTION
During mast setup, it is recommended to position the legs in a way that one leg opposes the
prevailing wind direction. For instance, in the provided diagram, the wind is indicated by the arrow marked (1). Place the leg labelled as item (2) in opposition to the prevailing wind.
To enhance stability, extend the center pole until it touches the ground item (3).
For optimal security, we highly advise anchoring the mast legs using either metal pegs or sandbags.

ANCHORING MAST LEGS - PEGS
For anchoring the mast legs with pegs, it is recommended to choose durable stainless steel or galvanized pegs, preferably between 30-40cm in length. It is advisable to secure all three struts for added stability. You can acquire these pegs from nearby hardware or camping stores.
ANCHORING MAST LEGS - SANDBAGS
Alternatively, sandbags can be utilized to secure the mast legs by positioning them over the leg or on the inner strut. For optimal results, it is recommended to use 10kg saddle bags and aim to secure at least two of the legs, considering the wind direction. You can conveniently obtain these sandbags from hardware, camping, or photography stores.
